Oldschool 180 Kickflip
This week I welcome again the talents of Bill Robertson.

I first saw this trick in a trick tip in Skateboarder Magazine. I believe the year was 1978 or 1979. The trick was done by Doug "Pineapple" Saladino, one of the best all around skaters ever. He ripped at vert and freestyle too. My friend Roger Uminski was very good at this trick.

Many people to do this trick off of an ollie, yet you can also do it with an old school style kickflip. Done this way, it is a very different looking trick, one that will amaze and impress your friends.

Check out the video clip here.

Put your front foot on the heel side of your front truck. Hook your back foot with your toe just in front of the back truck.

As you jump, you kick the back of the board with your back foot. Simultaneously, you press down on the opposite side of the board with your front foot. This creates the tension, which allows the board to flip a kickflip and rotate 180 degrees too.

Lift your legs and let your board come around. Remember to jump forward in a straight line, not to one side or the other (not left or right, but straight).

As the board comes around, look to land with your front foot on the front truck and with your back foot on the tail. For added style, try and land this into a manual (or wheelie) and ride away with style.
