Rock 'n' Fakie
The Rock 'n' Fakie is another basic mini-ramp/quarter-pipe move. It's a simple trick, but requires balance and practice. If you want to really rip on any kind of ramp, you really need to get the Rock 'n' Fakie down.

I suggest you wear your helmet when learning this.

You need to make sure your board is stable when sitting on its rail (edge).

Check out the video clip here.

In frame 1, Fletcher approaches the ramp in a normal riding position, one foot just behind the front truck, one on the tail. If you are bigger, you'll might want your front foot on top of the front truck.

He rides up the ramp with enough speed to push the nose over the top. In Frame 2, as he gets to the top, he lifts the front wheels over the coping.

In Frame 4, Fletcher pushes the front wheels down, rocking the board on the coping. Notice that his center of gravity is still out over the ramp. This will help him bring it back in.

In Frame 5, Fletcher rocks back, pressing the rear wheels to the ramp surface and lifting the front wheels again.

Now the scarey part. He lifts the front wheels just enough so that his front truck doesn't hang up on the coping rolling backward on the rear wheels. He watches his front wheels, so he knows when to put them back down.

Beware: if you hang the front truck up as you go back in, the board will stop moving, but your body will continue to move, resulting in a nice, backward, possibly hit your head on the ground, slam. That's why I say, wear you helmet until you have this trick wired (and then consider wearing it all the time anyway).

Finally, he puts the front wheels down, his weight centered over the board, and rides away fakie.
