Hip Ollie
Now that you know how to ollie, and have practiced and have ultimate control, you can take it to the next level and do Hip Ollies.

Almost every modern skatepark has a pyramid ramp on which you can ollie over the hip. The cool thing about the Hip Ollie is that with the effort of a normal ollie you can really take off. Learn to land 'em solidly, and you have an impressive move that you can take almost anywhere. Very cool.

Again -- learn your normal ollies really well before doing this.

Also note Fletcher's helmet. This would be an easy trick to become an invalid on. Use the helmet. Save your brain.

Check out the video clip here.

Fletcher rolls up the bank with a good amount of speed. His knees are bent, and he's ready to smack it down. With this trick, don't pussy-foot around. Smack it down and nail it.

Before his front wheels roll over the hip (where the two sides come together), Fletcher pops a mighty ollie.

Now, as he flies over the hip, look at his front foot. He really uses it to drag the board up high.

As you can see in frame 4, the results are impressive. He drags the board up to his body. Both feet are in contact with the board so he has good control. His center of gravity is right over the middle of the board. Amazing.

Now it's time again to come down. Fletcher extends his legs, keeping his feet in contact with the board for proper control. He lands on the banked surface, bends his knees, and rolls away fast. Body is centered over the board -- no shooting the board out here. Very good. For a little punk. hehe.
