The 180 Shove-It is a basic freestyle move, useful for mixing into footwork lines. It's also the basic shove-it that more advanced shove-its are based on. This is a move that was on the old version of the site, but this is new, better footage.
This trick is good for slow, medium, and fast speeds. Shortboard, longboard, or whatever. Street, freestyle, or ditch. Check out the video clip here. |

Begin the move rolling forward at whatever speed is comfortable for you. Your front foot should be on in the middle of the nose, pointed forward. The rear foot should be over the rear wheels.

You can see in frames 3 and 4 that I've used the front foot to get the board to move. Look at the position of the front wheels. As the board moves through the shove it, it is really just doing a pivot around the front wheels -- like doing a kickturn off the nose. The difference is that you are hovering in the air while the board does the kickturn. |

Watch the board as it comes around, and use your fee to catch it. You can catch the board in a perfect riding position, ready to do another trick. |
