While I was filming last week's tip, the Tail Stop to Rail (I'll get this reposted soon), I started playing around with the board, and learned this move, the Tail Stop to Casper.
You'll want to know the normal 180 Casper Hop before trying this. This move is not really that hard, but you need to be comfortable flipping out of the casper. Check out the video clip here. |

In frame 1, I'm stopped in the Tail Stop position.

Now the tricky part. I use the foot that's on the tail to apply a little pressure to the edge of the tail. At the same time, I jump a little bit to get my weight off the board. This starts the board flipping into the casper. In frame 4, the board is flipping over, and my weight is completely off the board. The foot that did the flipping is moving to scoop under the board and catch it in a casper. The other foot, which was just hanging in the air, moves to land in the casper spot on the bottom of the tail. You've gotta be quick to get the board to flip, jump off that foot, and catch it with the same foot. I actually have the board turned around in this trick. I'm using the nose as the tail. The nose on this board is more rounded, which makes it easier to flip into the casper. On a normal street board it doesn't make much difference. |

In frame 5, I'm almost in the casper. In frame 6, I've managed to catch the casper without touching either foot to the ground. From here, I flip out of the trick, just like in the 180 Casper. |
