The 50/50 Wrap-Around is sometimes called a "Saran Wrap" or "Whip Around". It is a stationary freestyle trick, though I'm sure plenty of people have done moving, ollie variations. I'd suggest you learn the normal 50/50 fingerflip before trying this move. This tip is being demonstrated by YOYO Schulz. In the video clip, you'll see that YOYO actually wraps it around twice. I've condensed the trick into one wrap in the sequence, just to save some space. Thanks very much to YOYO for providing the video and words!!
This trick was invented by Rodney Mullen in the early 80`s. It is a stationary trick and a good opportunity to take some breath during a routine. Here is how it's done (for goofy footers) : Check out the video clip here. |

Frame 1: You start in a switch foot wheelie stop position. The left hand grabs the nose of the board while the left foot is under the board.

Frame 3: Now you have to shift the board with your left hand to the right hand while at the same time the left foot jumps on the back truck (try to land on the ball of your foot for better balance).

Frames 5 and 6 Now you have to catch the board again with your right hand and prepare for the landing. The thumb is on the underside of your board to guide it back on the wheels (like a fingerflip). |

Frames 6 and 7: Land solid with the knees bend and roll away and smile .
Of course there are other ways to get into the 50/50 position; try your own variations. Practice with double and triple whip arounds. My own record is 7 consecutive whip arounds on a sunny day.
