Once you've learned the basic rolling fingerflip, the 180 Varial Finger Flips is a good move to work on. In this trick you'll be rolling forward and do a Finger Flip, but the board will also do a 180 underneath you.
There are other variations of this trick. This is just my way, and it's probably the most common way to do it. Check out the video clip here. |

As with the normal Finger Flip ride forward at a moderate speed. Make sure you are rolling smoothly.

As I get in the air I start to flip the board. There are a couple of things to notice in frames 3 and 4. First, notice that the board is at about a 45 degree angle from the ground. The 180 varial is done this way. The board doesn't stay horizontal. Second -- notice that I throw the board me. This keeps me above the board. |

In frames 5 and 6 I'm in the air, waiting for the board to come around. I keep my feet pulled up in frame 5, giving the board a chance to do it's thing.

Finally, in frames 7 and 8, I smack my feet back down, catching the board and landing solidly. Note that I'm on the balls of my feet, in a normal riding position.
