Once you learn to do Hip Ollies, you might want to try doing some ollie-grabs. These are much harder on flat ground, since you don't have as much time to grab.
I recommend starting on flat ground and just grabbing the nose as your ollie peaks out. Then try 'em off curbs. Then, take it to a nice hip, like the one Fletcher is on here, and do a nice backside air. Check out the video clip here. |

Going pretty fast, Fletcher heads up the wall faciing down down the slope (backside). As he reaches the top, he pops a strong ollie. |

Now look at his knees in frames 3 and 4. He really pulls the board up to his body, which makes it easier to grab the board. He grabs with his front hand, behind his front heel.

As he comes down, he releases the board, keeping his body centered over it. |

|

OK. In the last frames he comes in for a solid landing. With his body centered, he lands on the banked wall and bends his knees to absorb the impact.
