End-Overs are another basic skateboarding move. They consist of a series of 180 degree pivots, first off the nose, then off the tail, going in the same direction. If you practice these, it will help you come out of other tricks with more confidence, since you will be used to pivoting out of tricks to fakie. Very useful skill.
You can do them in either direction. Rather than the usual still images, I'm just going to use the video clip here... |

Rolling forward, you put a foot on the nose and one on the tail. Do a 180 pivot on the nose, either frontside or backside. You do not have to raise the wheels very high. Keep your weight properly centered. Come out rolling fakie. Now, do another 180 pivot, this time off the tail, turning your body in the same direction as in the first pivot. Your body should then complete 360 degrees of rotation Now do this again a few times. Try it doing the other direction. As you get better at this, you can start adding 540 spins into the endover sequence, as I do in the sequence. I do a nose 180, come out rolling backwards, then a 540 spin on the tail (from fakie), and come out rolling forward. This is a good move to put in with other freestyle footwork. The component moves are simple, but you can build a complicated and fun footwork line. Good stuff. Good Luck! |
